Communications

Website Submissions

The Saint Francis Church website is a primary communications instrument of the parish. Here we provide a sense of the life of Saint Francis through program information, details of parish events and offerings, sermon recordings, Scripture readings, and links to pdf versions of Sounds (our newsletter). In addition, the site provides commentary from Billy Shand and Phillip Ellsworth, as well as occasional pieces from Gary Davison.
Parishioners may use this form to submit articles that support the mission of the parish.

Editorial Standards

Editing. Articles must be edited prior to submission. Check your spelling and punctuation, make sure your syntax is clear and your word-choice precise, cut unnecessary words or sentences, and occasionally move sentences around for greater clarity or force. The classic reference Elements of Style is available online.
Contact information may include the phone number of the church office (301-365-2055) and the email address of Christine Tetrault, the Parish Secretary (ctetrault@stfrancispotomac.org).
Article length should not exceed 271 words.
Deadline. Articles must be submitted 14 days prior to the requested first-appearance date.
Caveat. The website editor really does have other commitments on his to-do list.
How long is an article on the site visible? Typically, articles remain on the site for 3 weeks.
